Today was the first day of Spring, and it snowed. Horrible, right? Especially since it was 70+ degrees yesterday. So I spent a majority of it inside. I hung out with Grace, and watched some tv. Nothing special.

Today, I enjoyed my last full day of being home (I go back to school in the morning) by going to see Alice in Wonderland for the second time. Again, I fell in love with the story. I think I could watch this movie as many times as I've watched the cartoon version, which let me tell you, is a lot. I'm going to spend the rest of the evening with my family, a quiet evening alone. I've come to realize exactly how much I despise being with friends from Hannibal.

Today, I spent the day at my great-grandma's. I worked my ass off to create my four year plan, or at least my plan to the best of my current ability. It's hard to believe that I'm almost done with my first year of college. After that, I went to my Aunt Donna's and had fried chicken and hung out with the family. It was nice, and very soothing to be home.

Today, I went home for the first time in weeks. I couldn't be more thrilled about the idea of going home, even if it means that I won't be in Columbia. I woke up and started to clean the room up a bit (it was quite disgusting) and then I went to English. As soon as I got out of English, I found myself heading for home. When I got home, I ate chili at my Grandmas and then spent the remainder of the evening at home. All is well.

Today, I went over to Grace's house when school let out for both me and her. It was incredibly fun to get to hang out with her family. After I got back, I took off with Becky, Jess, and Kee for the midnight premiere of Alice in Wonderland, and let's just say I was incredibly amazed. If I thought I loved Wonderland before, I had no idea how much my love could grow. I want to see it again and again.

Today, like any other Wednesday, I found myself down at the Underground with the NaNo group. Talk of Script Frenzy is becoming more and more frequent, and I honestly can't wait until April 1st rolls around. It's going to be so awesome to get to work on a script, especially with Ruth by my side.
Today, I also planned a trip with Ruth. In May, she's going to come up for Bamboozle. She's going to fly up here and we're going to take the train to Chicago, which means meeting Jules and Madison. I can't wait. It's insane to get to see my best friend in just two months.

I spent the day today outside of the Underground. Yesterday, I received two necklaces I ordered from Etsy, and by far this one is my favorite. But that might just be because the release of Alice is two days away. Speaking of which, I bought my tickets for the midnight premiere today. Also, I had dinner with Becky before heading off to an orientation for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. And then I had a SCAM meeting. Almost normal Tuesday.

It's Monday here in Columbia, and it's safe to say that I'm exhausted today. I took off for the Underground almost immediately after getting out of class, and I stayed there until after closing. Down there was a concert of a band that I can't remember the name of, but both Grace and I bought the cd.

Today, I woke up and took a shower, and then headed down to the Underground to meet Grace. We hung out down there for a long time, and it was ungodly wonderful outside. Then, we went back to my dorm and played Mario Kart. After she left, I went to Liz and Noah's house for a Murder Mystery Dinner. It was super fun and the first time I'd ever been involved in something like that. I turned out to be the murderer, which was weird.

Today, I went to classes like I always do. It was relieving to see how warm and wonderful it was. I proclaimed it to be the best day ever, and sure enough it was. After classes, I came back here and hung out until it was time for dinner, which I had with Becky and Yolanda. After that, I headed down to the Underground (are you seeing a theme these days?) with Grace and her friend Alison. Soon, it got too crowded so we took off for Panera after Liz and Noah met up with us. We stayed at Panera until close, and I had my first cup of coffee/caffeine since I stopped drinking it a few weeks ago. It made me REALLY hyper. After Panera closed, Liz and Noah went home, and Grace and I headed to the Underground with her dad. It was Latin dance night, but somehow we managed to tune them out long enough to write for about an hour and a half. When I finally got home, it was almost eleven and I was so happy.

Today, I woke up and went to classes like I always do. I ended up turning down the Southwestern Internship, just because I couldn't handle being away from Missouri for that long. Hell, I don't even want to leave Columbia anymore, let alone go to the East Coast. Immediately after class, I took off for Malissie and Dennis' house, and as soon as I got there I expressed what a beautiful day it was, and we took off to the park. At the park, we walked around and climbed some rocks. We "skipped" rocks on the ice. We played on the playground. We walked. It was good to get outdoors. The sunshine makes me feel more alive. Then we headed back to their apartment and watched Harry Potter and ate tuna noodle casserole. It was the best.

Today, like every Wednesday, I went out of my way to get to the Underground as soon as possible. I'm in love with Wednesdays, I don't know how I'm going to be able to give them up when I have to go back to Hannibal - or worse, when I'm across the country for Southwestern. Tonight, we were playing Apples to Apples - which we successfully turned into a writing game- and laughing. It was good to spend time with the group.

Today, I wrote. I poured emotions and thoughts and past feelings into my character, Katie. My moleskine has become a constant companion. I don't know what I did before I had it, honestly. I pour so much of my energy into writing in it. Also, my handwriting is horrendously tiny.
Oh, and I didn't do as well as I thought I did on the Oral half of my French test. Go me. At least a 70% is still passing, technically.

Today, I went to a meeting for a potential summer Internship called Southwestern. It's basically a summer sales job, where I'd be relocating to the East Coast for a couple of months, and getting plenty of travel while I do so. It seems so interesting and fun, and I'm starting to really hope that I get it.
Other than that, I did the usual of going to class and such. And I played with my new friend Kanye, which only furthers my need to have a guinea pig. Maybe for my birthday? Maybe?

Today, we welcomed some new friends to our lovely group. A trip to Petco had Kee bringing home two mice - names to come - and Jessica bringing home a black guinea pig that we've come to call Kanye. They're darling. I couldn't love them more.
Aside from that, I met up with my friend Grace at the Underground for a quick write-in that went the same way most do, with no writing. I've come to love this kid.

Tonight was McDavid Hall's Masquerade Ball, and I couldn't have had more fun at the dance. It wasn't the best turn out, but it was a swirl of bright lights and dance songs and people I am growing closer to. We were all dressed up and looking silly, but we were amazing.
This is what it feels like to be alive.

Today, after classes, I went shopping with SCAM (or Student Council At McDavid if you're not a FARCer) for the masquerade's final things. I really couldn't be more excited about tomorrow night. The rest of the evening was spent in my room with my friends, enjoying the evening without the looming classes of the next day. I have a LOT of studying to do to catch up this weekend.

Today, I spent the evening downstairs in FARC, working with Arts Advocates to host a mask making event. Saturday night is the wonderful Masquerade ball we've been planning for weeks now, and I couldn't be more excited. It seems like so much work has been put into it, and I know it's going to be so much fun.

Today, I returned to school, even though I didn't want to. I love school, honestly I do. But I was looking forward to spending Super Bowl Sunday with my family. But of course, that wasn't an option due to upcoming snowfall. Snow and I are done. Over.
Mom and Dad made hot wings, rye bread and dill dip, and baked eggplant. They also made taco soup to send home with me. It was delicious. I spent the Super Bowl in Jessy's room, watching it for the commercials and working for kgb_.

Today, I woke up in a sore mood. I looked outside and saw the snow. I knew that would mean that my mother wouldn't let me drive home. But actually, it was quite the opposite. I got to go home and after a two hour drive home, I'm sitting in my living room typing this. I'm so happy to be home, even if I already miss Mizzou. It's funny how that happens. My heart aches to be in two places at once. But maybe that's a good thing, It means I'm always happy.

Lounged around the dorm today in the time that wasn't spent in class. It's abnormal to spend a Thursday at the dorm and not hanging out with my best friends. It's sad, almost. The positive side is that I got to spend some time with my Kee and my Jessy before I have to go home this weekend. I love how I say "I have to go home" like it's an obligation. But really, I couldn't be more thrilled to go home.
This time tomorrow I'll be updating from my house! My house! Now I'm off to play a game on Skype with Haley, who will most likely kick my ass.

Today I went down to the Underground and got some writing done, but not a whole lot. Just enough to give to Sarah for Fragile Strings. Then I updated my actual blog with some stuff. I finally got a car back today, even though it had only been a few days without one. It was intense! I'm glad to have a car back, but I miss my baby Delaney.
Home in a few days. So thrilled!

The patio outside Lafferre Hall is home to the stone shamrock symbol of engineering. It is said that you are destined to marry an engineer if you walk across this embedded stone.
I didn't do much today. I got up late. Went to class. Ate lunch. Went to another class and then worked at kgb_. I'm not happy. But I'm not unhappy either. I'm just me I guess, and that's okay. I started a new writing project with Sarah. I hope that turns out the way I wanted it to.

Today was spent with my Mother, my Grandma, and my Great-Grandma. I went to lunch with them, Olive Garden of course, and I couldn't have been more thrilled about it. Unfortunately, on the way down here, their car broke down, forcing them to take mine back to Hannibal. I'm mildly disappointed, but it's okay because I'll get her car in the next couple of days and then I'll trade back this weekend.
Once I got back from being with them, I spent the night with Becky, first watching the Miss America Pageant, and then we watched A Cinderella Story. It was tons of fun.
